I'm going to Copenhagen in August for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and neither of us really know what there is to do there beyond the tourist sites on the Internet! We are interested in: nice gardens or walks; restaurants and cafes; museums, galleries and theatres. Hotel advice would be appreciated, and how to make the most of our money as neither of us are well-off and I know the Euro tends to jip British visitors. Thank you very much!

They don't have the euro in Denmark they have the danish kroner. If you like museums and walks in the park you won't be disappointed in Copenhagen. My boyfriend and I went in February this year and it was snowing and really cold but we still went everywhere by foot as there is so much to see and it's all within walking distance. There is a museum on nearly every corner, buy a good map when you get there, they are very easy to follow,we didn't get lost once.Visit Tivoli gardens,it is breath taking, also there are many more parks and lakes that are all free entrance.Go off the beaten track down the little side streets and you will find a haven of great restaurants and cafes,we stumbled upon a gallery that we wasn't aware of when we done this. One tip is the coffee is really expensive,so if you are on a budget and need a coffee,go to the 7 11 shops that are dotted around.Copenhagen is not cheap, but there are enough free museums and parks to save you a bit of money so you can have a nice meal out in the evening. We stayed at the first vesterbro hotel and we liked it very much,it was very clean and is suitable mostly for couples or business men and not family's,it was very quiet when we went though so I'm not sure what it would be like in the height of the season as it's a very big hotel so could get a bit noisy.Hope you have a great time and I'm really jealous as I'm dying to go back myself ha ha
