Taking the harbor tour in downtown is a lot of fun. Very much worth the price. The changing of the guard at the royal palace is also nice. Not as much pomp as the British, but well done.

If you have more than a few hours, try to get out of then inner city. I find that e.g. Strøget (the shopping mall) is much like any other shopping street in other European city.

Many find Christiania is fun to see. It's a special "free" part of the city, where people, mostly hippies and activists live in "alternative" ways.

Go to Nørrebro (where I live). Cosy Cafes and a chance to see how people live. 10 min walk from the city, next to the lakes.

Personally I don't think it's worth to see the little mermaid. Not if you are short of time. If you take the boat ride, do take the longer, which will take you by the mermaide. Then you can tell your friends you saw it :-)

If you are in to museums (and the weather is bad) go see Nationalmuseet (the National Museum) for a bit on Danish history and culture.

I'm told the dance/party scene is good. But I'm too old for that.

For jazz concerts go Copenhagen Jazz House.

Bring a rain coat and umbrella.

um, Tivoli rocks. The Round Tower is definitely worth it...it's not really, incredibly high; however, the view is breathtaking. The changing of the guard is worth it because it "isn't" like the Brits...they just march around downtown, all 12 of 'em or so. The bus ride up to Hamlet's castle is something I'd highly recommend! I can't wait to do it again! Make sure you have kebab...it's not Danish, but it's frikin good! Have a pint of Carlsberg and Tuborg (or 10)....go dance, shop, and don't be afraid to speak English...quite often it's better then most natives'.

have fun!

Sit on a corner in town from May and watch the clothes start to come off for the summer times. Most beautiful thing I saw in Denmark. I sat on one corner for 6 b hours just looking at beautiful girls.
