This depends mate, if your tight on time, you can grab some excellent low fares with some low cost airlines. i presume you are from the states so the top 2 UK low cost airlines are WWW.easyjet.com and www.ryanair.com. It would be fare to say that Ryan air recieved some recent bad press because of their quality and service, but i think it is also fair to say that it has pulled them up by the bootstraps as so to speak. Easyjet tend to land people in the middle of cities where as Ryanair tend to land people just out of Major centers. But hope this helps. Typical fares are quite low for travel. next weekend i am traveling to Salzburg from London Stansted with Ryan air and i am going to Austria for the day for £30 rtn. they arnt all this cheap but its a good indicator of what prices can be if bought at the right time. if you have time, wait for a fare sale, they are like every couple of weeks with Ryan Air. I´m with Lizzzie - Eurail is awesome!! There are tons of young people doing just that during the summer, you are bound to make stops where you never thought you´d venture!!!
